The Raleigh Little Theater
In the summer it is full of roses of all shades of pink, a fountain and stone columns. Perfect for young kids, families, and romantic couples, too!
Joyner Park
Located in Wake Forest, this park is worth the drive if you don't happen to live nearby. It has beautiful tree lined paths, a rose garden, farm houses, tall patches of grass (my favorite), a bridge, and a stone wall. There are so many different backdrops to maximize your session time. Best of all, this location is perfect year round!
JC Raulston Arboretum
The arboretum is a perfect location for any photo session. Large spaces of grass with beautiful trees and flowers all around. A gazebo, Japanese garden and wooded paths. It is a great location for photos most of the year.
NCMA
This is quite possibly my very favorite location. I'm a sucker for rolling hills, grass, and a moody feel. There are so many areas of the park I haven't been yet, buy my favorite areas are the big areas of grass, the tall grass areas overlooking the pond and the area near the tall trees.
Dorothea Dix Park
You can probably see a trend here. I love wide open spaces. This makes for really beautiful pictures, but also it's great for kids because there's space for them to run if they need to get out some energy halfway through the session. Also, if the light is right you can see the Raleigh skyline!
Oak View Park
This park has a big field of trees, farm houses, a little herb garden, a small cotton farm and a small vineyard area. There's also white fences, a gazebo, a barn, and a couple rocking chairs! What I love about this park is everything is small and close together so you can get lots of different backdrops without having to spend too much time walking from area to area.
Downtown Raleigh
Murals, beautiful buildings, and brick. So much brick! I love sessions like this that are a little different than your run of the mill session. This area of town provides a beautiful backdrop for a session that will be memorable!
